Baroque Palace-Art Museum

Who does not like art?? Well I do, and I will speak a bit about art ,about Art Museam from Timisoara and Baroque Palace.

The southern part of the square is dominated by the Art Museum. This museum is also known as the Baroque Palace which was in the old times the Old Prefect's Office.

In   the XVIII century , this building was one of the   most beautiful building due to its style that was also seen at  Kinsky Palace from Wien. The building has two floors and a garret, but what impresses us the most are the two gates that mark the entrance . The gates are built in an authentic viennese baroque style
The Palace was visited by great personalities like Emperor Franz Josef I, king Ferdinand I and Queen Maria. The visitors can always visit art exibitions in Banat Art Museum..This way touristis have the opportunity to visit one of the most important historycal buildings from Timisoara.

In the summer young people come to expose their work. The sell hand made, paintings, old stuff, silver made jewells. Also in the warm summer night you can come and watch a movie that its projected on the facade of the Museum.

People usually come and take a sit on the grass just like they are at a picnic and they also share their impressions.

Palace. Brand New Bruck Palace.

History?! Never one of my strenghts, never liked it nor  was I good at it. Images, my best way to express .This is why today I will write something about history through images.
Union Square is of course my favourite place in Timisoara, who doesnt love it?! I come here early in the morning , in the weekends and drink coffee, watch people, read , feed the pigeouns or watch the colourful buildings.
All summer me and me friends talked about a building that was hidden by the many courtains because it needed a restoratioun. Every morning we watched  this beauty who showed us more and more. A bit of roof, a bit of a window more of a balcony .

But guess what, Today is ready, The Bruck Hall is ready, finnaly ready and the abiding worthed. Bruck Hause is a building in Union Square .It was built in 1910 buy an architect named László Szekely . He adopted 2 very important styles:Art Nouveau and Secession. Its a building with four levels. Down stairs its a farmacy and many, many indoor and out door terraces.

Its beautiful. Feast your eyes with perfection:
This is how the building looked before restauration and in the end f the photo gallery you can see brand new pictures:

Where to enjoy coffee in the center of Timisoara.

Union Square is one of te most beautiful places in Timisoara. Here you can come and drink a coffee, invite your friends at a beer, go for a walk, admire some beutiful girls:)  or of course take your laptop and  work. All these can be done from one of the many outdoor terraces , always full of people who come here early in the morning. Toursits also prefer this place as its always crawded and full of people.

If you dont have cash, no problem you can use one of the Atm from the square. This place is always crawded all four seasons. If its too cold to stay out side no problem, every terrace has an inside pub wher you can stay and enjoy your visit, your spare time. Its cousy and you can have everything you want. You are hungry? No problem, amoung the cafe's you can also order some sandviches or go at the restaurants from the Square.

Union Square is the oldest Square in Timisoara, it was initialy called Square Losonczy, after the name of Stefan Losonczy, who was killed during Turkish Empire in 1552, when the castle was also won by the turkish empire. The  Square was also known as the Square of the Dome. It was called Union Sqaure for the first time when romanian troups firts came in Timisoara in 1919.

In Union Square you can also visit many of the turistic atractions like: Romano-Catholic Dome, Baroc Palace. Bruck Palace, The statue of Holy Trinity and the Fontain with Mineral Wather but about all these astonishing buildings I will speak in th next posts.

How to reach Unin Square:

Hello Everybody,

This is my first post and I want to welcome everybody who loves Timisoara and who wants to visit this small Wien.
Hopefully from the beginning i thought to myself that this web page is not going to be a turistic guide, it is going to be more. Five years ago i came to Timisoara just like you :) but as a student.
I have always wanted Timisoara because its the only city where i feel at home.

Firstly I can tell you that here i will start to write about Timisoara from every aspect. I will not treat Timisoara from its beginnings but show you images about this city nowadays, about every beauty of it, about places to visit, thins to do .

I will speak about buildings and their history, about people and spare time.
Secondly, I want this web site to become an invitation, an open door , to meet new people, to make attractive things, to see how we have fun here , how we spend time all four seasons:))

All in all , i will not get you bored with this introductive post but let you discover this blog, discover me , discover us.
Welcome !!

Hugs and Kisses !
